A. Children born between 1/1/2008 and 7/31/2020 are eligible to play for MCYSA. (Your child has to have turned 3 by August 1st 2023)
A. The cost is $70 for the first child with a $5 discount for each additional sibling. T-shirts are provided with registration.
A. Practices are set by the coaches of individual teams, not MCYSA. Please contact your coach for practice information. Typically teams practice once or twice a week.
A. The Fall 2023 season will have their first games on September 9th. Tentative last game day is November 4th
A. Registration closes on August 7th. We will form teams immediately after. Your child's coach will then be in charge of reaching out to you, so please make sure the correct email and mobile number is listed on your registration as this will be the information given to your coach.
A. Before we can create schedules and assign teams, we need to know how many children are playing in each league. Thus, we can't create the schedule until registration is closed. Typically we do all of that shortly after registration closes before the schedule is created. Your coach will contact you with practice times and get your shirt to you before your first game. Make sure your contact info is correct when registering! When rosters go out, your coach will tell you the team color.
A. We try to have each team play 6-7 games (weather permitting) in each season: Most games are played on Saturday morning. We have added an extra weekend this season based on parent feedback. Games start at 9:00 a.m. All games are played at the MCYSA Soccer complex off of County Park Rd.
A. Cleats, shorts, shin guards and a ball are requested. A team T-shirt will be provided.
A. No, our program is recreational. The focus is the development of your children. From small sided games to 'must play' rules to providing licensing programs for our coaches, our interest is in your child. We have many kids at all ages that come to MCYSA for the first time to play soccer.
A. Games are played in all weather unless there is lightning, so please make sure your child is dressed appropriately. We will update Facebook if the fields are closed.
A. All you need to be able to coach is some organizational skills and a willingness to help - no prior soccer experience is required. A coaches meeting is held at the beginning of each season to help you understand the basics of the game and provide some drills you can run with your team.
A. Volunteers are the lifeblood of MCYSA. Our main needs are for coaches, field coordinators (to ensure fields are properly maintained), and team managers. If you would like to help or know of someone that will help, please email the MCYSA Soccer Board.
