Review Season Calendar

Greg will reserve rooms for the March 6, 2008, 6:30 pm Competitive Scheduling meeting in Crouse 101 as well as the March 25, 2008, 6:30 pm Coaches meeting.


Treasurerís Report

Brett presented the financial report which consisted of a check register for January 2008, a profit & loss statement for 2007 and the Associationís balance sheet as of January 31, 2008.Carl made a motion to accept the financial report and Donna moved to second.This motion passed unanimously.


Donna is working on the Associationís 501(c)(3) application and she discussed the reporting requirements.


Web Site

Brett updated the Board on his effort to establish a new MCYSA web site.Site development is going well however the old site will not allow the Association to link to the new site.



Walk up registration is scheduled for February 23 and March 1, 2008 at the McCracken County Soccer Complex.The Board agreed that the current medical release form utilized for recreational players was adequate.


Field Maintenance

Greg updated those present on the Land & Water Conservation grant for the soccer complex.Picnic tables and trash cans have been ordered for each shelter.Greg also reported that the Association will need to compile a list of volunteer hours for grant purposes.


The layout of fields for the spring 2008 season and the possibility of reseeding certain areas was discussed.The Board agreed to purchase one pair of new 8í x 24í goals for the upcoming season.





Carl discussed field needs for the March 22, 2008 McCracken County CCL day.Carl has contacted area competitive coaches to make them aware of this playing opportunity.It is also posted at



Michelle Hale has resigned as the Director of Officiating for MCYSA.The Association is searching for a replacement.


Comp Team Code of Conduct & Guidelines

Carl will brief competitive teams on the new Code of Conduct requirements at the March 6, 2008 scheduling meeting.All competitive team players, coaches and parents will be required to read and sign the MCYSA Code of Conduct in order to obtain player cards.


Comp Team Fees


Several competitive team coaches have asked the Board to consider a discount for teams that did not use the complex for games and/or practice.After a lengthy discussion the following discount policy was agreed upon:


††††††††††† $60 comp registration fee

$10 reduction per player if parent agrees to volunteer on the registration form (at registration)

††††††††††† $10 reduction per player if the complex is not used for practice

††††††††††† $10 reduction per player if no games are played at the complex


In order to insure compliance the practice and game rebates will be issued at the end of the season.


This policy will be evaluated at the end of each season and modified to ensure that all Association expenses are covered.


MCYSA Soccer Academy

Donna reported on the upcoming MCYSA Soccer Academy.Parents are being encouraged to stay and participate at the Academy which is scheduled for April 12, 2008, 9 am Ė noon at the complex.


MLS Camp

Greg is searching for a parent to coordinate the MCYSA Major League Soccer Camp in early June.


In other business Greg announced that the City of Paducah and McCracken County would have a joint meeting regarding a new soccer complex at 5:30 pm on March 18, 2008 at Paducah City Hall.Greg encouraged everyone to attend and support a new complex without getting into the issue of where to locate the facility.
