McCracken County Youth Soccer Association

Minutes from March Meeting

The McCracken County Youth Soccer Association met at 5:45 PM, on Monday, March 8, 2004 in the Paducah Parks Department conference room. The following persons were present:

Board Members: Lisa Oetjen, Greg Holtgrewe, Elaine Stevens, Jackie Lange, Mark Davis, Craig Rogers, Van Newberry, Sean Walsh

Guests: Kim Davis


The minutes of the February 9, 2004 meeting were distributed by email and were available in hard copy format at the meeting. Greg Holtgrewe made a motion to approve the minutes as printed. Van Newberry seconded the motion which passed unanimously.

Financial Report

Sean Walsh presented the year to date financial report for the period ending January 31, 2004. For reporting purposes the year starts with fall registration and concludes with the end of the spring season. For this period income exceeds expense by $533.27 and there is a balance of approximately $16,000 in the checking account. Following a brief discussion, Van made a motion to accept the financial report with Greg Holtgrewe seconding the motion. The motion passed with all present voting yes.

New Goals

After a discussion the Board agreed to put new 7’ x 18’ goals on the U10 fields.

Drury Inn Practice Field

Based on the need for additional full sided practice fields the Board agreed that we would need to use the Drury Inn practice field this spring. Greg made a motion to authorize Elaine Stevens to spend up to $100 to have the field mowed. Lisa Oetjen seconded the motion and it passed with no opposition. After the initial mowing, association members have agreed to maintain the field in exchange for priority in scheduling practice times.

Preparations for Opening Day

Van Newberry will advise Julie Jackson of the spring schedule and confirm the Association’s arrangements for the concession stand.

Sean will order seven sets of new corner flags.

Greg will arrange for toilet facilities from March 20 through June 4, 2004.

Team Formation Rules

It was the consensus of the Board that effective spring 2004, team formation would be random in nature, each coach will have one assistant and that assistant changes may only be made in the fall unless the child does not play soccer

The Board’s next meeting will be on April 12, at 6:00 pm, at the Lone Oak Methodist Church.

There being no further business the Board adjourned and conducted the open draw for the spring 2004 season.
